Dear English Language & Literature students,

I hope you are all healthy and in good spirits as this new semester begins.
I wanted to advertise my ¿µ¹Ì´ÜÆí ¼Ò¼³ [British & American Short Story] ±³¾ç class for those who have never taken a literature class from me.
There are two sections that are rather smaller than usual so I wanted to reach out to those STILL looking for a meaningful course to take.
The course code is UBHA1005 and the times for the two sections are [01 ¹Ý] TUES 3:00 - 5:45; &  [02 ¹Ý] TUES 3:00 - 5:45.

In the ¿µ¹Ì´ÜÆí ¼Ò¼³ course we cover the basic elements of fiction in depth [ plot / character / setting / tone / symbolism / theme ] along with learning all the related major literary terms in English. The class will be unique as we will read and analyze stories by major writers in English: Kate Chopin, Edgar Allan Poe, Ernest Hemingway, Langston Hughes, D. H. Lawrence, James Joyce, Katherine Mansfield, as well as many more recent Postmodernist writers. More than a skills course, I really try to impart the value of why literature is important as we view these writers as some of the greatest minds sharing their thoughts, emotions, and criticism of society. Usually, our ¿µ¹®Çаú major students have gotten the highest scores for the course, especially those that have taken or are taking the English & Culture courses.

I hope many of you might consider joining!

Kind regards,
JOHN-FRANCIS KINSLER
